In 2017, I was in a Unity class at UW Bothell. I was in a group of four students, given the task of building a fully-functioning game from scratch in less than 70 days. The result was Boss Turtle.
Below is a trailer I edited together. "Bionic Bard" was the name of our team (I put a pixel filter on a public domain Shakespeare portrait, and added some detail).
All the art is by me, except for the ground, trees, clouds, and that nacho cursor, which were my teammates' decisions.
Boss Turtle
The title character.
She wants to protect her eggs from thieving bunnies. To do so, she head-butts and launches Easter eggs at the bunnies. That way, the bunnies are appeased, and leave her real eggs alone. Yay for non-violence!
Basic Bunny
The default enemy unit.
They want to steal Boss Turtle's eggs.
Copter Bunny
The flying enemy unit. She drops carrots on Boss Turtle.
I'm particularly proud of this design! A teammate suggested a flying unit, perhaps a bunny in a helicopter. I suggested that instead, the bunny twirl her ears like a helicopter. This is the result!
Grunt Bunny
The Grunt Bunny is stronger than the basic bunny.
He slams his fists down to attack.
That carrot is tobacco-free, by the way. Grunt Bunny promotes a healthy diet.
He wore his ears in a bunnytail before it was cool.
Unused Background
This is a background I made that was not used in the final game.
The foreground, background, and sky are in separate layers, so they can scroll independently for a parallax effect.
